We believe that securing a job and a place to live are just the beginning of what’s needed for a successful reentry. That’s why we offer additional services like counseling for mental health and addiction recovery to help our clients address the myriad issues that may have led to their incarceration. Our mission is to provide a safe space where individuals can gain the knowledge and self-assurance they need to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

Can We Talk Life collaborates with a wide range of local groups, businesses, and other interested parties to open doors for our clients and help them succeed. Our clients benefit from initiatives like job fairs, mentorship programs, and more to help them network and find stable footing in their new neighborhoods.

Our Vision

Recognizing that securing a job and stable housing are just the initial steps toward successful reintegration, we offer additional services such as mental health counseling and addiction recovery support. Our mission is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can acquire the knowledge and confidence needed to thrive in all aspects of life.

Can We Talk Life collaborates closely with various local entities, including businesses and community groups, to provide opportunities for our clients. Through initiatives like job fairs and mentorship programs, we empower individuals to network and establish stable foundations in their communities.

Looking ahead aspire to partner with the Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) on a reentry program tailored to ex-offenders’ needs. This collaboration enables us to deliver personalized attention to our clients while contributing to the broader reentry community’s objectives and aspirations. Together, we aim to foster success and facilitate positive outcomes for individuals transitioning back into society.

Our Team

Our team comprises expert case managers, social workers, mental health professionals, and other specialists committed to crafting personalized strategies for successful reintegration. This involves assisting clients in securing employment, developing resumes, accessing local services and support groups, and navigating the myriad obstacles of reentry.

Dr. Rachel Pope

Founder and President

Dr. Rachel A. Pope, also known as “Raw Wisdom,” is a highly motivated wife, mother of seven beautiful and strong-minded girls, Motivational Speaker, Certified Life Strategies Coach, and Author. The list of her accreditations and accomplishments is lengthy, but the true testament of Raw’s talent lies within how she has overcome her personal life experiences and transferred them into coaching sessions and outreach programs.

Raw Wisdom’s life motto of Mind of Matter and Walk your Walk has led her to her calling of helping others be the best versions of themselves. In 2018, Rachel founded Can We Talk LLC Coaching Services commonly referred to as CWT. Can We Talk provides personal development, family meditation, relationship and business coaching services. Along with her husband James Pope, They have expanded CWT with a non-profit organization called Can We Talk LIfe.

Mr. James Pope

CEO and Founder

James Pope is proud family man with a wife and seven daughters (3 grandchildren). As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, James has explored the world specializing in Electronic Equipment Repair while active. James has spent the last 24 years working in the steel manufacturing business where he is a Production Facilitator. James relishes guiding others and assisting them at creating their career/life path.

James believes that the best way to help others is by using his own life experiences as positive tool and not a negative mark. In 2018, James and wife Rachel founded Can We Talk LLC Coaching Services commonly referred to as CWT. Can We Talk provides personal development, family meditation, recovery, relationship, and business coaching service. They have expanded CWT with a non-profit organization called Can We Talk Life.

In his spare time, James is an avid bowler in which he dreams to one day has a chance to participate on the Pro Bowling Tour. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast and loves being out on the open rode with his Harley Davidson.
